Community management

Roles, three-state permissions, the moderation queue, the audit log and editing Community Home.

Growing a community starts with good structure. This guide summarises MOODS’s admin tools.

Edit Community Home

Choose Edit on Community Home. Set the cover image and its focal point, pick up to three featured channels, write a welcome text and reorder sections with the up and down arrows. Save publishes your changes.

Roles

In Community Settings › Roles, create roles, pick colors and drag roles into order. A role higher in the list can manage the ones below it. Use the role’s Members tab to assign it.

Three-state permissions

In a channel’s Permissions settings you set each permission for each role to one of three states:

  • Allow: the role can do it in this channel.
  • Default: the role’s general permission applies.
  • Deny: the role can’t do it in this channel.

For example, in #duyurular you can deny Send messages for @everyone and allow it for admins only.

Moderation

  • Reported messages become cases in the Moderation queue. Open a case to see the message in context and warn, time out, kick or ban.
  • AutoMod catches the words, links and spam you define before a message is sent.
  • Slow mode limits how often members can post in busy channels.
  • Raid protection alerts moderators when many people join in a short time and can pause invites for a while.

Audit log

Community Settings › Audit log shows who changed what and when: role and permission changes, channel edits, moderation actions and invites. Entries are kept for 90 days.

Invites

Create a link with Invite. Choose how long it stays valid and how many times it can be used. See and revoke active invites in Community Settings › Invites.
