MOODS wants to be a calm and safe home for communities. This policy explains in plain language what we process and why, how we protect it and what you control. For the legal details, read our KVKK Privacy Notice. The Turkish version prevails in case of any conflict.
In short
- We show no ads, we do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
- We collect what we need to run the Service.
- Private voice and video calls are end-to-end encrypted and never recorded.
- You can download a copy of your data or delete your account at any time.
What we collect
What you give us. Username, e-mail address, password and birth year and month at sign-up. The display name, bio, images, connections and custom status you choose to add to your profile.
What you create. Messages and files, reactions, the communities you join, friend requests, event interests, and your notification and privacy preferences.
What security needs. Session and device details (such as browser and operating system, and an approximate city shown in your device list), sign-in attempts and your IP address hashed with a rotating salt. We do not store IP addresses in the clear.
On the website. Only if you allow it, a privacy-friendly analytics tool counts visits anonymously. See the Cookie Policy.
How we use it
- To create your account and provide MOODS’s features.
- To protect your account and prevent spam and abuse.
- To enforce community rules and review reports.
- To answer support requests and send important service notices.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who can see it
People who can see a channel see what you post there. Community owners and moderators can access what they need to moderate their communities. Direct messages are visible only to the people in the conversation; when a message is reported, the relevant part is shared with our safety team for review.
Providers that host the Service, store files or send e-mail access your data only to do that work and under contract.
How we protect it
- Every connection is encrypted with TLS.
- Private and group calls are end-to-end encrypted; community voice rooms can turn it on.
- Passwords are hashed with Argon2id, and two-factor authentication is supported.
- Location data (EXIF) is removed from uploaded images.
- Staff access to data is limited to what the job requires and is logged.
Your controls
- Privacy settings: choose who can message you, send friend requests and see your activity.
- Block and report: block people and report content that breaks the rules.
- Download your data: request an archive of your messages, an index of your uploads and your account details; we e-mail you a link when it is ready.
- Delete your account: you can change your mind within 30 days; after that your personal data is deleted or anonymised.
Children
You must be at least 13 to use MOODS. For users under 18 the sensitive media filter starts at its highest level and direct messages are limited to friends by default.
Changes
When we update this policy we change the date at the top. We announce significant changes in the app or by e-mail.
