Account and security

Two-factor authentication, backup codes, sessions and changing your password.

Last updated:

The best protection for your account is a strong password you don’t use anywhere else, plus two-factor authentication.

Turn on two-factor authentication

  1. Open Settings › My Account and choose Turn on two-factor authentication.
  2. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password).
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from the app.
  4. Save your backup codes somewhere safe. If you lose access to your phone you can sign in with them; each code works once.

Manage your sessions

Settings › Devices lists the browsers and devices signed in to your account. End any session you don’t recognise right away, then change your password.

Change your password

Go to Settings › My Account › Change password. For your safety we ask for your current password, and your two-factor code if it is on. Changing your password signs out your other sessions.

New device verification

When you sign in from a device you haven’t used before, we may send a verification link to your e-mail. If it wasn’t you, don’t click it and change your password.

Something suspicious?

  • The MOODS team never asks for your password or verification codes.
  • Don’t click links promising free gifts or saying “your account will be closed”; report such messages with Report.
  • If you can’t access your account, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen.
